Wal-‘ādiyāti ḍabḥā(n).
Oh, the chargers that run panting,
Fal-mūriyāti qadḥā(n).
sparks of fire striking,
Fal-mugīrāti ṣubḥā(n).
rushing to assault at morn,
Fa'aṡarna bihī naq‘ā(n).
thereby raising clouds of dust,
Fawasaṭna bihī jam‘ā(n).
thereby storming [blindly] into any host!
Innal-insāna lirabbihī lakanūd(un).
VERILY, towards his Sustainer man is most ungrateful
Wa innahū ‘alā żālika lasyahīd(un).
and to this, behold, he [himself] bears witness indeed:
Wa innahū liḥubbil-khairi lasyadīd(un).
for, verily, to the love of wealth is he most ardently devoted.
Afalā ya‘lamu iżā bu‘ṡira mā fil-qubūr(i).
But does he not know that [on the Last Day,] when all that is in the graves is raised and brought out,
Wa ḥuṣṣila mā fiṣ-ṣudūr(i).
and all that is [hidden] in men's hearts is bared
Inna rabbahum bihim yauma'iżil lakhabīr(un).
that on that Day their Sustainer [will show that He] has always been fully aware of them?
